Traverse is scalable in that it can be deployed on a single workstation or server, or deployed across multiple servers.

There are many tracking systems available. Most are based on file system databases such as Microsoft Access or Microsoft Foxpro. Some use a Microsoft Access front end or client GUI and link to a database other than Access. Using this technique makes it very difficult to tune the application for performance. Most are flexible in that the end user can easily customize them. These systems are great for small implementations having relatively few users a very limited number of assets and a very limited transaction volume. User concurrency also becomes a huge issue. As you add users to the system, the system slows down and sometimes the database can become corrupt.

Traverse on the other hand can support significantly more users, many thousands of assets or inventory items and millions of transactions. This is because Traverse is tuned for SQL Server 2008R2 and supports Microsoft's newest SQL Server version 2014.

Traverse can also take advantage of distributed architecture such that multiple web servers can be used with an NLB (Network Load Balancer) to support hundreds of concurrent users.

Double click "TraverseSetup.exe" and then follow the prompts.

Follow the prompts of the installation wizard. Enter specifics about IIS, services, the database, etc. and then click "install". The installation package will set up your environment, set permissions, create the database, set-up virtually everything you need.
